I am looking to get a roof rack mounted storage box for road trips. 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs kind of take up all of the interior space of the wagon and it would be nice to only take one car when there is a hurricane evacuation. So I have decided to get a storage box. I have the Yakima aero bars and was looking at their boxes. I also think I want a hard case one. Has anyone had any experiences with the Yakima ones or recommend a different brand? Any thing I should look for specifically with it? And what do you do for storing it the other 350 days of the year?

I'll jump in here. The touring my mum recently acquired came with the square style Thule bars and a 7.5' roof box. The box is an ancient Thule unit but it is very spacious and attached quite well. The PO had it on sawhorses in his basement and I am guessing we will do much the same.
The only complaint with the hard-sided unit is wind noise when it is empty. Otherwise I didn't mind driving with it on..thought it kind of looks like a hat!

Thanks. It keeps things pretty dry inside?

I ended up getting the Yakima one since it went with the rails. I went with the size 18. Adventure mode unlocked!
