Greetings To All,
New here. Just purchased a 2000 Z3 and fixing it up. The top is in pretty good shape but the side tension cables are visible on both sides of the car just above the windows. I've got some restitching to do but unfamiliar with exactly how these cords should be addressed in the process. Would there be any pictures or details of exactly how these cords should be stitched back into the top?
I've always been a motorcycle guy but switched to the little Z3 as I have wanted one for over 20 years, so figured it was about time. I enjoy tinkering with the details of the car but being unfamiliar with many of them means I have some learning to do, especially with the cloth top.
I have ideas on how I will proceed but it is always a good idea to seek help when in unfamiliar territory. From what I have seen so far this is an awesome site with a lot of great and knowledgeable guys and gals to help.
So thank you for any insight into this project.

Oooooookay,
Let me be more specific.
Should the tension cable be visible or is it sewn into the edge of the fabric? I am talking about at the first bend right above the side windows.
