I like it. Placed a bid. A low one basically to just watch the auction.

I'd like to see better photos of the paint if it's really looking at a respray.

... like to see better photos of the paint ...
What really matters with one like this is rust-free, collision damage free, and clear title.

    Current bid:US $2,750.00, [ 23 bids ] ( I bid 2700 )

Agreed. I dont think its a big issue. Paint can be corrected or just left alone. I was just wondering if the pictures were outdated since the ad says 'Will need paint fairly soon' but you cant tell from the ad. But maybe its peanuts and small potatoes.

I dont see how this car doesnt hit 5-7k.

Can't be too many of these around. I have one that's very, very original, albeit getting converted to sidedrafts next week. :-)

Wally paid $8k for an original 1983 320iS with low miles. This one is worth more. It has potential longer term collectability. You'd need to keep it garaged and rust-free.

The auction ends tues at 1:29 pm,,$3,000 right now,, hard to tell if there will be a flurry of bids or not at the very end,,if not this one will go cheap.

Agreed this car would be worth more...until the line "will need paint very soon". Paint jobs aren't cheap, particularly if you are concerned about "potential longer term collectability".

This is quite true even the franchise car paint shops want quite a bit for a scratch off the clear coat n paint job,,thats why I do it my self and get it done right. Its a lot cheaper even getting the equipment and buying the base, paint and clear coat, ect

I just dont see it needing paint based on the pictures. He states there are pictures that disclose that but I dont see it. So it asks the question, are the photos OLD and being reused, is something being hidden, or is the paint really not that bad?

interesting, the VIN lookup says this a Euro market car... but it has US lights and turn signals. Rear body valance looks Euro... i was just surprised to see a full 17 digit VIN for 79, i thought they didnt start until 80.

Wait nevermind, just read the sellers edit saying the car was modfied to meet US standards, that explains it. It was federalized, but the gauges werent?

Stancing is for drivers trapped in an abusive relationship of their own lives.

It was the same with m2 '82 323i. Converted to US Spec bumpers, rear side markers, but still had all the German gauges and KM speedo
