Did I miss the memo? I just got back into an E36, and back when I upgraded the lights last time, I just picked up some DJ Auto's. Now it seems like they are barely available or in stock. So did something happen, or is it just happen stance. Have Depo's gotten any better than they were a few years ago?
Order new Bosch from Schmiedmann. The price difference for OEM Euro lights that actually perform and hold up for decades is with worth every penny. They are quite affordable too, even after shipping.

I had no idea you could get new ones for that price. Very much worth it.
That said, if going aftermarket, I think DEPO still has the better internals. But they all have cheap adjusters and brittle plastic, though DJ Auto is supposed to have better exterior plastic strength.

It's a retrofit, but it's good to know those are out there.

My first retrofit used DJ Autos, this one I'm giving Depo's a try. I did get an email back from ECS, indicating they were expecting DJ Auto's back in stock in about 3 weeks.
Yeah admittedly, it's been a long, long time since I've run DEPOs with stock internals. 2006 probably....at that time it was quite the upgrade from stock candle lights.

I'm about halfway'ish through the retrofit. So far one broken tab, and one broken housing (around the male part of the tab). I remember specifically being very impressed with my DJ Autos back in... 2012ish maybe.. at just how pliable the plastic of the tabs were. The insides honestly look about the same quality) (at least from memory).
I also noticed that the screws holding the original projector housings seemed a little wierd. One had 3 identical screws, and one had two (identical to the first 3), and one longer one that was loaded with a spring. I'm not sure if that is a design, or a screwup.
