Hi all,
I posted this over on E46fanatics, but so far no replies. I'm wondering if there is anyone with this experience here. I need some guidance on an issue I'm having with my S54 swapped wagon.
From time to time, I'll go to start the car and the battery will be extremely low. This is an intermittent issue, so most of the time the car starts and cranks as normal after sitting for several days.
I noticed recently there was a noise coming from the throttle body actuator area. This noise only happens when the car has been sitting for several hours AND the battery is low. See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMRmUjbMTmk
Could this be what is causing the electrical drain? What is that noise? Any idea how to troubleshoot this?
I would suggest posting on m3forum.net, that has the most support and folks for the e46 s54.
Intermittent means it is electrical, most likely a short of some sort.
When you scan for codes, does anything come up?
