These guys are a bunch of retards. Biggest problem you cannot get a hold of them to save your life. They have customer support email, a phone number, and a live chat feature on their website. None of these can be used to actually get a hold of anyone. I tried for 2 weeks. The only way to get anyone is to use the contact seller feature through their eBay store.
Second, I sent my CD43 radio off to have the volume potentiometer repaired. The radio would get louder no matter which way you turned it unless you put a little pressure on it. I get the thing back and now the volume knob doesn’t work at all. It won’t raise or lower the volume nor will it turn the radio off. It has less functionality now than it did when I sent it off.
So fed up with companies like this.

These guys used to be good a few years ago but I guess they've lost their glow. Maybe time to close the shop and do something else.

I have had nothing but good experiences with them, in person, and via online service.
services included:
Purchased DVD Navigation MK IV for e39 (in person)
Repair volume knob on CD43 for e31(via eBay)
MID display repair on 2 e31's (fellow e31 member in AZ brought both in for repair)
Why not give them a little time to respond before dragging them thru the dirt?

I gave them weeks to respond before figuring out their whole website is useless and they don’t actually answer the number or email provided on their business card. Then finally sent my radio in for repair to have it come back working less than it had before I sent it away. I just don’t understand how they’re in business if it’s near impossible to get a hold of them.
And what’s more irrititating is if you want to reply to their message through eBay, you have to start a whole new message. You can’t just reply to an existing message chain. I don’t know why anyone would do business with them.

That’s what I had repaired, unsuccessfully
Recently purchased a CD43 unit and MID repair from them. Fast transaction and they responded quickly.
Great service for me 3 times.
Always had good experience with them.

I had my on board computer LEDs done by them. No sweat, and has been working fine for a few years now.
Do I need to start repairing MIDs for folks too?
I've got a small pile of climate control SWORDS (aka final stage unit) that need servicing-- need to find a way to make it a quicker job (drilling out the epoxy/rivets is a bit of a PITA)
What other electronics in our cars systematically need my touch? (crash relays? concealing headlight relays? door cards? steering wheel modules?)
'89 735i, '91 850i, '81 MB 380SLC (For Sale), Tesla Model 3, and VW Passat TDI -- Yes, I still repair General Modules, DM for info!
High beam relays need resoldering, the GM capacitors burn up a lot, MID, radios.
Do they still sell the Rover branded CD43's and pass them off as BMW version, with the hidious M logo stuck over the Rover logo?

Yeah to my knowledge they do I see them on eBay
I did this comparison years back. There is more to it than just a Rover logo or BMW text.

I just sent them my MID for a button repair. They turned it around in 2 days.
Cosmetic differences aside... does anyone know if there are any ELECTRONIC differences between the Rover badged CD-43 and the BMW Business CD badged CD-43. I bought a Rover unit (not knowing any better, years ago) and the sound in my setup is not as good as I hoped. [pro install, amp, upgraded speakers all around, etc.] I'm wondering if my Rover "CD43" is a weak link or the "fake out the CD-changer input to get aux-in" unit I also got (years ago, not knowing any better) may be part of it.

I had three replacement MID's years ago when BMW would pay for part of the cost and all three failed within a year or so. I then sent one to German Audio Tech in 2012 and it has been perfect since. I do remember he was kind of quirky as I asked him if I could just drop it off and he was pretty adamant that I send it in. I was just thinking how nice the MID is yesterday as my daily driver is in the shop so have been driving the 850 quite a bit.

Had 3 MIDs repaired by them and one failed....no problems covered under warranty.

Word of advice, they used to be good back in the early days. Not so much anymore. I had one of the worst experiences with this company and don't wish this upon anyone. I too made the choice to go with them based on all the reviews and experiences that people stated in the past on the forum. If you are going to get your MID/OBC repaired, please go with BAVtech or someone else. Use every bit of caution with German Audio Tech in Southern California.
