I'm thinking of selling my wonderful-but-seldom-driven '85 535i, but am having a hard time figuring out how much I should ask. Second owner, 151,000 mi., needs paint but no peeling or rust, upholstery mostly good (one small crack, one seam starting to come apart). Engine sound and fast. Leaky brake bomb; dash cracks; sunroof motor out; the usual idiot lights. Non-TRX alloys, good tires (plus excellent studded snow tires for winter thrown in). Decent radio, and I have the original radio too. Basically, a decent daily driver now, and tremendous potential as a fairly low-mileage project car for restoration. How much should I expect to get for it if I decide to sell as-is? Is it worth fixing anything before I list it?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I would ask $3k, "as is", based on the pics, and to move it in a reasonable amount of time. Good luck. John
I finally bit the bullet, decided I wasn't ever gonna restore this beauty like she deserves, and just posted her for sale on CL: https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/6645206264.html. Solid driver now, great restoration project. Thanks for the advice! $3,500 obo.
