Whats the best short shifter out there?
I have heard the e60 545 rod is pretty good.
What would you recommend?

I agree with the general census, E60 shifter is working great in my E34. I installed this one, and it's super short shifter.
Just don't be a dummy and flip the shift arm around like I did otherwise it'll drag on the guibo

Yep, that is the one I have and I like it a lot.
I’ve got the uuc double shear one in the 540. Very smooth and u can change the stick height as I like it abit taller. I have the weighted zhp knob so this makes it very smooth.

Whatever shifter you end up with, the UUC DSSR is a MUST. It is a biggest factor in tightening up the shifter slop. Though most think its perfect, I tried an e60 shifter in my 540it/6 and actually thought it was TOO short. I ended up with what i was told was a really early UUC shifter. Slightly longer than the e60 shifter, difference being the bushing at the bottom was replaced by bearings.

But it has to be a 545 e60 shifter, right? I am looking for a shorter shifter.
Will be ordering the DSSR rod
I was going to get an E60 short shifter, but then was told it's too short, think they put in an E36 M3 shifter in there instead, and it's perfect.
