Hey everyone!
I recently retrofitted some oem xenons from a 330i into my 325i E46.
On the passenger side, the vertical aiming knob allows the light to go up and down.
The driver side, no matter how much I turn the knob, nothing happens to the light. Is the gear inside broken? Is there any way to work around this issue?? The lights are currently aimed a little too low.
Thank you in advance for everyone's help! The lights look great and really update the look of the front, I want them to be more functional too though!
The adjustment screw may be past its limit and isn't catching the adjusting arm. Taking it apart will paint a better picture, but I doubt that the adjuster is broken. e46 did not suffer from traditional e39 headlight issues since the design is different. Have you tried using a phillips screwdriver instead of a hex wrench to adjust?
Be careful not to strip it since it' all plastic in there. Grab your meatiest phillips head driver for this and turn slow while assisting the adjustment wheel with your other hand.
