Fuse or resistor for LED angel eyes

One of my LED angel eyes went out, I switched the wiring from my other headlight to the one that went out and it started working again.

Do I need a new fuse or resistor, how many amps or watts do you think? Thanks

Why not measure the working resistor?

I didn't have a meter. I found a 50W resistor online, not in my local parts store

Your car was not wired for angel eyes so you have a custom wiring harness. That means that it does not need an error eliminator so the module in the wire you are holding is likely to be an LED driver, which provides constant voltage to the LED. If you have an identical wire that works, it is likely that the driver failed and needs to be replaced.

If I am correct about the module being a driver, the standard approach would be to determine the amp rating of the existing driver and purchase a replacement with the same amperage or less so you don't burn out the LED.

My approach was to replace the drivers and bulbs with higher amp versions and using thermal paste to mount the LED on the heat sink to keep the bulb cooler, which got me 18 watts per bulb.
