Have a bmw e46 with a ls3 motor from a camaro 2010 ss with some Mousa to it am around 498hp and my water temp is perfect but my oil temp goes up to 270 to 280 on hard driving in the track I made this project for pure track use but am scare$ with the temp so high what’s the best thing I can do to solve it oh ya have a 21 row oil cooler and with a fan but no ouch please help me
Take more cool down laps.
Make sure your oil cooler isn't restricting (too many 90 degree bends in lines or kinks or hoses too small)
I go at least -10 AN

I race a 6 lap not to big. A track maybe 6 mile track on my 3 lap am already on the 280 oil temp and my oil cooler is a 21 row with a fan and a 10an hose lines and no 90 degree bends only two rest are straight just my problem when I floor it the temp goes high but if I take it easy and don’t pig it not a problem when I feather it or take it easy
you know this is the drifting sub forum right? 6 laps on a 6 mile track... I don't think most of our cars see 36 miles in a season.
with that said, hows your ducting to the cooler? I know ducting is everything on road race cars.
Novablue454 yup I know it’s a drift sub forum in fact my car was built for just drifting but in the philippines we have lost the drif race and so I am starting to use the car for track when I use it for drifting the little times I do the car is perfect but for track this is the problem can’t stay on long term high rev use was just checking if any one has a solution
most high-ish power drift car builds struggle with keeping fluid temps reasonable after a few hot laps on a sub-mile course. the difference between driving a sub-mile course intermittently and driving a multi-mile course for multiple laps is tremendous. go ask this question over in the track build forum, they will probably be of more help

I would look into getting a crank scraper. That can dramatically lower oil temps and free up a bit more power. If you have the budget a dry sump would be even better.
