Hey everyone, first post on bimmerforums site. I hope I have this posted on the right page, also hoping that if this has been discussed, that someone let me know so if I have to take it down I will.
I'm in the process of building my 2001 e46 330i into a drift car. I'm at the point where I'm attempting to install my hydro brake and realized I still have my abs module and the traction control still in place. Since i have to disable it everytime I hit the track, I feel like that would be very annoying, so I've looked up everywhere about trying to delete it completely since it'll never see street use anymore, and so far everything i find out is how to shut it off or disable it. So I'm hoping there is someone out there that is building their car as well for drifting that could give me some insight on how they did their set up. I will continue searching incase I find something and i'll post it up here for others to see as well.
Mods to date;
Headers back exhaust system
Cold air intake
3.46 welded rear diff
Corbeau driver and NRG passenger bucket seats
takata race harness
Custom harness bar
EPIC ECU tune
You need to unplug your front right speed sensor. That should do the trick(worked on mine)but if you do the rear or any other it will limit your rpm to 5500 so just do the front right.
Thanks man, really appreciate it. Gonna do it tonight and let you know how it works out. You think after that is done if its gonna be a big deal to eliminate the abs module then and just hard ling the brake system?
