As I said above, any filter, regardless of brand, that will fit a 460" Ford big block. It just occurred to me you could go on google and look for "oil filter for a Ford 460"motor. If that doesn't work go to Auto Zone and use their interchange book. This isn't brain damage

Sorry I got brain damage.? not sure, but anyways I ordered as what was told. Does this seem correct, in terms of fit? Or is the filter supposed to match and line up the o ring seal?

Did I get the right filter? It looks a little small in terms of width.

Is it for a 460"big block Ford"? If so the answer is yes. If you are still uncomfortable, go to Autozone and buy a Fram PH8a filter which is what I have suggested from the beginning As you can see from the picture it doesn't 100% cover the plate in full. What the main concerns are is the the "drain" holes line up and that the filter seals tight against the plate and if you bought the correct filter as I have specified, you should be good to go.- - - Updated - - -
This what the spin on filter assembly looks like with the recommender Fram PH8a filterComplete filter unit.jpg

Ed I am out but contact 1986series6 He has one he never used and wants to sell it. I am not sure which car you have and still might need a part from me but the plate itself will be the same. At the same time, I sell these for $150 but if 4 guys step up, I will do a group buy at $135 shipped. The difference between my adapters and others on the market is mine will work with a BMW oil cooler filter head and a top bolted filter housing and also I can provide adapters for the pre 81 cars with the large "coffee can" size filter heads

Thanks Bert,
I PM'd Ed.
Hi Bert. This sounds like an interesting conversion. How is the filter oriented when installed? If the filter screws on from above may I suggest a different filter with an internal stand pipe that prevents the filter's contents from draining back while off and also when changing.
Fram's # is 2804-1, Baldwin, regarded as a better filter is # B253. Both dimensionally equivalent to the PH8A but with the stand pipe and a much heavier case.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
I don't do top mounted filters. only bottom mounted.

I have been out of them for quite a while. I could make some more based on a few things. One is I have to see if the machinist who was making these for me is still around and then if I can get 4 guys to step up from various forums. So bear with me and I will get back to you
