After reading many threads my third try at removing my old stubborn Fuel injectors finally worked. First time tried prying with screw drivers no luck, second try the cis injector puller couldn’t get that to go either. Yesterday i had some time well it took all day, and I figured out an easier safe way to remove those 37 year old hard rubber seals keeping the FI frozen in the manifold. i used the extraction technique but a more DIY version using common tools an old Acura lug nut a few washers I had laying around. Pb blaster, brake cleaner wd40. I removed the fuel lines at the FI, then using a combination of open end wrenches and washers depending on which FI it was, tighten down the Lug Nut, which just happens to be the right size this was a lucky find, on the threaded top of the FI and it pulls the FI out high enough and with a little wiggling from that point it comes out easily. Then the task of removing the old hard seal with a screw driver carefully and a vacuum cleaner to suck the brittle bits out the hole. Then clean up the manifold bore and Fi and it got done finally. Installed the FI back in with the new seal on the FI with some LPS grease-less Lube and pushed it down the bore with the lug nut attached which made it easier I could use a socket and extension to push it all the way down instead using my hands. I was very patient and in no hurry I didn’t want a nightmare like breaking a fuel line. Toughest FI was #2, #4 easiest. IMG_9326.jpgIMG_9311.jpgIMG_9310.jpgIMG_9308.jpgIMG_9307.jpg
Looks like you can get a lot of leverage that way.
Yea but if you keep tightening down the FI comes up and you can add another wrench or washer tighten again and out it comes.
Excellent, well done!

Nice idea! Mine where a pain as well this would have definitely been easier.
Yep, Okie demonstrated how I did it. Using open ended wrenches you can kinda use them as a pry bar. Its a pain!
Good to hear you got it sorted . I dunno know mine has always lifted out using 2 screw drivers easily.

I tried but screw drivers didn't work for me seals were brittle. This method is easy It lifts the injector out like a gear puller. With fresh seals screw drivers will work now.
