And managed to score projector headlight units from the salvage yard for $50 to replace the originals which are busted and cracked.

Tires are barely two years old too although they all are flat spotted from sitting low for so long. Gonna give her a bath and vacuum and see how she looks then.
Awesome score! I got my 92 525it for $350 and it's a good bit rougher, haha. Are you keeping the auto, or planning on a manual swap?

Congrats! Welcome to the $500 E34 Club! Mine is exactly the same year and model as yours (manual, though) but my paint wishes it looked like yours.
Picked up a working shifter handle and the cover plate that goes by the right fog light for a few bucks today. Also found a wheel cap tool and a glove box light which I grabbed just for fun.

I really hate POs and PPOs some days. I pulled off the trailer hitch that was on the car and found how badly it was installed. PPO just punched holes in the trunk floor and used carriage bolts to hold it in. The hitch was cut up and the pieces used to try and make it straight with the body (NOT) and reinforce the bolt heads. On a positive note the spare wheel cleaned up nicely and the clearcoat/paint looks almost new. And yes, those are light bulbs sitting in the lug holes, good place to store them and out of the way.

Did an oil and filter change tonight along with spark plugs. She was missing at idle a bit but the new plugs cleared that up. Got two rear marker lights, air filter, and gas filter coming in the next few days.
I don't think the large and small o rings in the filter housing had been changed for a long time as they were very hard.

Changed out the fuel filter and rubber lines at the tank. Old Mahle filter was nearly plugged and the lines were cracked and leaking. I give BMW credit for making the rubber lines very easy to change out and route to the top of the tank.
The filter out rubber line still had the factory clamp on it at the hard line.
Air filter came and was the wrong size, so back to order the right one...

Good score! I'm still looking for a decent set of gray doorcards at my local yards... nothing good so far, they're all destroyed.

Are you looking for black door cards ? I have done really nice leather ones. Or are you swapping to tan?

Replaced the rotten door frame weatherstrip on both front with some tan ones. No mo wind noise. Driver side is still worn but not nearly as bad as the original. Had to cut the stripping at the bottom as it has shrunk quite a bit.

And if you have pets with white fur, it never completely goes away, no matter how much you clean...

Did a lil' cleaning on the engine bay. White really stands out when you get the dirt/grease off. I spent about an hour with a nylon detail brush and some dollar store degreaser (which works amazingly well).
