Genes1s 1997 E36 M3/4/5 Acrtic Silver.

Brought home an E36 M3/4/5 today! so excited driving a sedan, feels so much more practical for me. The doors feel better than the coupe ones, the windows don't rattle rattle when close as much, and the kids have their own doors! The seats are more comfortable than the vader are, especially for long trip. Drove 3 hours today from the PO's house and it was much more supportive for my back.

It is 100% stock other than short shifter kit and knob. It has 97K miles with decent maintenance records. PPI came back clean other than dead bulbs and few other minor things. She doesn't need anything really, no CEL, dry underneath( not even a power steering leak), rubber and mounts look decent, suspensions feels pretty tight, no clunks anywhere, and drives awesome. She does need a good through cleaning inside and out. Tons of moss and dirt outside and pretty dusty inside. She lived inside a barn most of the time.

Not planning to do any mods, other than putting the retrofitted headlights (from the Techno V coupe one) and refreshing the entire cooling system.

Arctic has a very light blue tint to it. Titanium is closer to white-grey perhaps.

I didnt really notice the blue tint to the paint till I parked mine next to my Sapphire Metallic 944. Def a nice color

I just got mine a couple weeks ago! Very easy to assemble, and it has been fantastic to use!

Arctic has subtle blue tint...this color grows on me now. I was expecting boring silver color but it's got different hue especially underneath cloudy sky.

im really enjoying my sedan. i have 3 kids i often pick up at soccer practices etc and also its easy to park at the train station which has tight spots. with all the work we have done it feels pretty tight and new. next steps wld be adding a 6 speed, maybe doing the gears, and then deciding how to get some more hp, nothing too crazy

So last night I decided to take the interior, mainly the seats and center console, and the trunk carpeting. The sedan seat is easier than the vader to get it out, i guess it is slightly narrower.

I don't think it has ever been detailed for the last 20 years....pretty nasty..

Empty the trunk carpeting and found out that the RSM are gone....

That junk is caked in that center console...man...sticky, gooey...

Bought a steamer and this thing is so cool I can't stop playing with it. I didn't even need to scrub anymore. I used this to clean the consoles, the trunk carpeting, seats, and the vents. It supposed to disinfect it too but I don't think the steam is hot enough once it reach the nozzle...

I'm most proud for the center console (rear portion I guess..) It cleaned up good!

Time to figure out if I should just replace the RSM or upgrade the suspension all together. The shocks and Strut looked OEM but not sure if it is original, it still feel pretty good. I've had Koni + H&R and Bilstein + H&R in the past. They ride about the same to me and this setup is tried and ture. It took me several different rear spring pads to get the desire overall wheel gaps. Stock suspension is fine really but I just want to drop the front one about .75" and keep the rear the same height to get the desire rake angle I like. Thinking about Coilovers but don't need to get fancy really (thinking about BC racing, Status Gruppe, ST, or even Megan Racing?? I think they are 1k-$1.5K). I don't track this car and it's not my daily, so suggestion is welcome.

Finally had it assembled. Used it on Maxima to rotate tires and It's pretty awesome so far.

Finally got the interior put together after applying dye to the seats. I got the dye from Seat Doctor and so far so good. I ended up applying 2 coats per seat after cleaning it with warm water, Lexol leather cleaner, and 50/50 Alcohol/water. The dye is fully cured in about 1 day and won't rub off under normal seating condition but it's not water resistance yet, wondering what can I do to make it water proof.

Seats came out awesome though.
