I installed a used master cylinder on my 86 325es and when I went to bleed the brakes fluid is only coming out of the driver's side rear caliper! If the master cylinder is bad would it cause this? Or is it just a large air pocket possibly? I am using a vacuum bleeding and had a friend also pump the brakes!
Are you sure the bleeder valves aren’t clogged?
I will check that when I get home, good idea. They put some much road salt around here in the winter time. If a master cylinder is bad would it cause the system not to bleed even with a vacuum pump?
I had a clogged one on my e36, stick a wire through or unscrew it completely.
Did you bench bleed the replacement master cylinder? Look up the procedure.
I didn't bench bleed it. I cleaned the bleeder valves and fluid is coming out now. I noticed my fluid reservoir is not all the way in the master cylinder where it meets the rubber bushings. When I try pushing it down it won't go all the way in the rubber bushings. I bought new rubber bushings.
