Can I make this work? Fortune Auto coilovers with swift springs. What tire size? Spacers? Fenders have some roll already.
It would be substantially less work, and look better if you got new inner barrels (if they are 3pc. mitos and not the 2 pc.) to make them 17x9s.
You will need to pull the shit out of your fenders to run those, as you will probably need 25mm spacers in the fronts to clear the coils.
They are 3pc. Not a huge fan of stretch but considering a 225 35 to see I can make it work. Do you think the rear can stay 10"? Sorry new to the e36 but read all about the clearance issues up front. Prev owner had some wide 18 or 19 when I bought it and has already rolled the rear quite a bit. Bought these on a whim, hard to find a good looking 17" wheel in 5x120 for the e36 and the price was right.
225s on a 10 is going to feel like the car is on bike tires. I’m not as anti stretch as many, but the car will legitimately drive poorly with that. Rears are actually as tight as the front. Depends on your fender pull though.
That's good feedback, thanks. What's the narrowest tire I can get on there that won't be terrible. As far as the inner barrels go where can those be sourced?
I'd recommend what notMpowered recommends above. No point trying to cram the 17x10 square under stock fenders. If possible then look to rebuild them to a 17x9 with a 245/40-17 tire. If you have your heart set on running these 17x10's, you'll need major fender work, a pretty size-able spacer front and rear and you still wont be able to run a tire much wider than a 245/40-17.
Even then, as stated above, with a 225 tire on a 10" wheel, this setup will feel confidence inspiring and I personally would advise against it.

Cut the arches off, weld the rear liners upwards, and run Hard flares.
I agree, go big or go home. If you want to run 10 inch wheels, best be running a widebody kit of some sort. That should give you plenty of space to play with.
