E36 Broken strut mount: critical or not?

It looks like my strut mount is hanging on by a thread and I was wondering what happens if it cracks completely? Spring hat slaps the strut tower? I just want to make sure I don't accidentally put cracks in a healthy strut tower. Unfortunately I won't have time to replace it for another two weeks otherwise I would have already changed it.

I haven't been able to find any information as I keep seeing threads about strut tower cracks but not about the mounts themselves.

I have replaced a few that were worse than that. You could end up punching a dent into the hood if you hit something and if finishes busting thru. Also the second issue would be the rebound, as it could very well let the spring loose and cause even more damage to the wheel well.

So my advice would be not to drive it unless you are going straight to the shop, and very carefully at that.
