s50 into 95 325i, works great but have some questions

Hi all, been a while since i posted last. Anyways short version, i got a s50 from a 95 m3 and swapped it into my 95 325i. Works great. What I used to get it all to work was the 95 325i wiring harness and computer. My question is how is this possible? Doesn't the 95 m3 with the s50 have different software than a 325i with a m50? Why does this work so well? Am i not getting the full performance of the engine with this set up? because let me say it feels awesome and powerful. I actually am a little nervous, nothing is ever this simple. Any thoughts?

    No One?

    Here are some details:

the 95 325i has ews and a silver 413 dme, I am using both the stock 325i DME and chip. I am also using the stock 325i green top injectors and the 325i wiring harness. I also cut and spliced the 2 wires to the ews computer under the dash. that's basically it and an s50 motor from a 95 m3.

I swear it runs like it was made this way, and I've been driving it for a few days with no problems at all. It's super powerful, it reminds me of my stock 98m3.

The reason I'm asking these questions is because I planed to play with this car and see how much I can get out of it N/A with custom software and a couple bolt on's. I'm just trying to figure out why it works so good with the stock 325i DME and chip, It hated the turner 506/413 s50 conforti chip i had laying around, but that might be because im using the green top injectors.... That's my theory anyway... I mean it ran, just crapy...

I swapped an s52 into my 1995 M3, it fired up right away using the stock chip from the S50. At the end of the day its best to retune for your specific setup and any mods with it. After a week I sorted out the minor details and made sure to buy a proper tune for an OBD-1 converted S52.

I wanted to update this thread for anyone who might do this kind of swap.

Its basically plug and play, but if you have EWS2 on the car receiving the engine then you need both software "and" pin7 on the x20 plug needs to be disconnected or cut, X20 plug is the big one next to the fuse box. There are 2 big plugs, its the one with lots of pins, its obvious the other plug has far fewer even though they are the same size plug.

other than that I got my software from Kassel Performance, they were very helpful in getting the car up and running with a proper tune.

Also, Although I have heard mixed things from several reliable sources, I don't recommend running a s50 on 325i software for long. And definitely don't push it if you do.
