    Heads and differences

Can I use a 200 casting head on a 325ix 89? What’s the difference between it and the 885 head?

it's super restrictive, has the smallest crappiest combustion chamber, and will destroy itself if not mated with the proper pistons. but yes, it is doable.

The 200 head also has single valve springs and 4 cam journals vs. the 885's double springs and 7 journals. The 731 is kind of a higher performance version of the 200 head.

I don't think the m20b25 pistons clear the 200 or 731 head. Just get an 885.

Thanks fellas the reason I asked I completely fucked up my current head I snapped the middle bolt that holds on the intake manifold to the head I then tried to drill it out and just made the hole super off centered and uneven I’m gonna try to Chisel the bottom off the intake manifold off from the head maybe with enough force it will pop off I don’t really care if the intake manifold breaks in the process. No machine shop wants to touch it lol I guess my own dumb expensive mistake IMG_0800.JPG

    No e30s, again :(
dude, keep drilling till the head of the bolt is clear enough to slide the manifold off. then you can unscrew that broken bolt from the head and just put a new bolt in its place
    No e30s again.

When you get the manifold off, I would use a propane torch to get that bolt as hot as you can, then try to unscrew. Heat really helps free up frozen bolts.

agree with the above. the head is probably savable if you haven't got past the the manifold too deep. pull the manifold off and you can probably replace that stud. it's no big deal, a couple broke when i pulled my engine apart for rebuild as well.

Dremel to cut the bolt head off. Heat and a stud removal tool to get the stub out.
