Once in a while you can find originals on ebay.de. Use the following terms to search: BMW blaues Tuch. Or replace Tuch with Poliertuch or Putztuch. Currently there are two on offer. One seller is asking for 149.99€ plus 80€ shipping. He says that he does not have to sell it and that he will not reply to lower offers. Good luck to him. The other one can be had for 79€.
That is wayy to much, at that point I think I'd rather go for the repro ones. I will keep an eye out for those though, never would have thought for that search. Thank you

I have an original curved-corner rag in my desk at home that will go in my e28. I will pull it out and compare to the pictures on the site posted, but off hand, I don't see anything distinguishable from original. Early, curved-corner rags are much harder to come by than the later square-cornered ones found in most e34s and e32s.
The prices seem about right. I sold an early rag for $100 shipped 3 or 4 years ago that I was lucky to find in the locked trunk of a salvage yard e34.
