Hello everyone, new member here. Im getting ready to replace the water pump on my e38. It seems fairly straight forward just by looking. Just one question, can the fan nut 32mm be removed with a regular wrench? I havent started anything but order the part.

You need a tool there to hold the pump and that will take up some of the space. I guess it depends on the thickness of your wrench.
Dont forget that it's a reverse thread
Great description, thank you.
Use anything that fits. I've used a big adjustable wrench
Give it a whack with a hammer and it will loosen
You need gasket... and O rings for the two pipes
What model do you have and do you have service records?
If you want to spend a few Bucks you can buy the tool and the wrench on Ebay for less then $20.00 just put in BMW fan clutch wrench and a bunch of them will pop up.....
Some people get rid of the fan and the clutch when replacing stat and pump
I'm one of them
I'm using this one, $15 and despite the bad reviews it's working just fine.
