I need to purchase a front windshield for my 1994 850. I want to install a correct BMW windshield even though it will probably be more expensive than other options. Should I go directly through a BMW dealer or would I do better through another supplier?
Another question I have is why do I no longer get daily E31 Bimmerforums emails? I had been getting them for years and all of a sudden they stopped. I have the Subscribe to this thread checked and Daily, using email selected. I've asked this question before and done as instructed but still no daily emails that I enjoyed reading every night in the past. I am experiencing no problem with my email service. When I Google E31 Bimmerforums my DA850CSI comes up so I must still be in the system.
Since you are back East, Gault BMW may be your best bet... expect to spend ~$585 on the windshield and another ~$180 for the rubber, plus whatever the installer wants...
Might be wise to see what a BMW dealer close to you wants, never hurts to try to match pricing... but with glass, it is the shipping that kills you

Cartoonz,
Thank you for the reply. I'll compare the two closest dealer's prices to Gault. Still wondering about how I can get back on the every night email of postings and threads. I miss all of that valuable information. I've learned so much from it over the years.
You might want to double check, but I believe BMW dealers will not ship windshields due to glass breakage. You can order one from any BMW dealer - if you are a member of the BMWCCA, most dealers will give you a nice discount.

Safelite will order glass from BMW. They did my windshield a year ago. But they can't get it to seal right--still have wind noise. So be careful who does the install.
