As title says ran diagnostic found that there is no communication to water pump. Checked fuse it was blown. Replaced fuse and as soon as it touched the prongs it blew. Was told that my water pump might be bad. Has anyone encountered this before? I'm gonna change pump out tomorrow with a pierburg pump from FCPEURO. the pump and tstat that are in the car are 2 years old. Some cheap no name brand water pump was installed I'm assuming from previous owner but the tstat is pierburg. Is there anything else it could be??

Unless the wires got shorted somehow (not likely unless you have a rodent problem), then it just about has to be the water pump.

Well I ended up replacing water pump and tstat just to on the safe side and the car runs better then it ever has lol. Lesson learned here stay away from cheap imitation parts lol
