Look what I found in Hana. LOL Seriously, I'm an X5 driver now and so far love it. It's 2001 3.0 automatic. Not too fancy but ideal for my needs. I've always liked Alpine White and there's no need for a V8 here. I've got M3s to satisfy any performance needs.
There are a number of issues that need attention, one being tires. There's three Dunlops and one Michelin. :-/ All are 235/65-17 at least. None are in good condition or have much tread remaining so it's time for a set of four tires.
I believe it is fitted with 17x7.5 wheels. I'm looking for suggestions in regards to keeping that size or a +1 and particular tires with you have had good luck. Thanks!

Black, round, and with a hole in the center. All joking aside, it's an E53 3.0. I'd get whatever was cheapest at my local tire shop. BUT, I always read reviews and comparisons online. Low noise is a high priority. If you want name brand, you'll never go wrong with Michelin, Continental, or Bridgestone.

Being the cheapest tire wasn't necessary, I just want a decent tire that will wear well, not grow noisy, and does well in the dry and wet. Ended up going with a Costco offering; Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus - SIZE: 255/60R17
Good reviews and good price.

The Bridgestone dueler alenza's are a good tire. My wife's Tahoe had them. I'd recommend getting an alignment if you haven't yet. You want a good alignment to keep the tires wearing evenly. And rotate them around every 10-15 k.

The Bridgestones I ordered Thursday evening arrived on Tuesday, which was 15 - 20 days (boat express!) before they suggested. Must have been shipped over from Oahu.
Got them on this morning, quiet and smooth ride compared to the tired Dunlop/Michelin combo that came with the car.

We've got Maxxis HT-760 Bravo tires on our 3.0i -- have been very quiet, good grip, 29,000 miles so far with plenty of tread left.
I imagine if the tires are still quiet at 29k, you have gotten your monies worth.
