    Just Checking -

Is the radiator on the e92 or e90's a high failure item like it is on the e38??

Nah. The big killer is the accessory belt getting sucked through the crank seal and destroying the engine. If history is unknown, replace belt & tensioner.
    Are you gonna eat that?

The radiators do leak. Just not quite as frequently. And from what I've seen, they leak from the end tanks, and it's not a catastrophic E38 style failure where the whole neck breaks off and the car immediately overheats.

I had been wanting one of the cooling system checkers for a long time = ordered this set from Turner, little pricey but all adapters included for BMWs and others too. I needed for this project and going forward.
