E46 Touring black oil
Hello, so I had changed oil with filters like few weeks ago, used 5w30 full synthetic one as per instructions. Today, I was about to check oil level, and noticed that oil is black as night. What could be the problem? Thanks in advice.

Nothing is wrong, especially if it's a diesel. The color of oil has nothing to do with it's condition, which can only be ascertained by a chemical analysis.Originally Posted by Deividas

A good chance that the extended oil changes has made some sludge, and with fresh oil it cleans out some of that old sludge.

Diesel oil turns black quickly from the combustion byproduct "soot". Its no cause for concern and perfectly normal for it to be jet black 15 minutes after changing it.
