02/1995 525i Automatic. 193k. Tried to jump, nothing. Everything inside works. Locks, lights, windows/sunroof, radio, anti theft, headlights. I can hear systems start up in the engine bay and buzzing from electronics but no crank whatsoever. Anybody has had a similar issue? From what I've read it could be EWS2 or starter relay? Any help would be appreciated

Check the engine fusible link first.
demet
I'm thinking ewsII, testing with multimeter will disclose more
I don't know anything about later models or EWS but I have a intermittant issue which I think is the ignition switch on the steering column or engine bay wiring/relay. It only plays up when the temp is hot and only once a month.
I get past it by wiring from the 12v+ battery to pin #11 in the diagnostic port (mines an early 525 m50 with the battery under the hood so it's easy).
From research pin #11 goes straight to the starter so if you could do that it would rule out the starter.
E: that was my process for ruling out the starter motor, next try the anti-start relay autos have, then trans anti-start switches auto have, and then ignition switch.
I have 12v sometimes to the anti start relay, but sometimes 7-8v so I'm working back from there but it's so intermittent and also I don't have aws to deal with which will be an extra step for you.

recently had the car just shut off while driving.. turned out to have been a break in the power wire between the point where it goes out from the back seat in the loom near the battery and where it emerges under the opening for the fuel pump... tested for power at the inside hot wire finding power but no power on the harness at the plug... ran a heavy gauge wire through some hose and pushed it through a hole in the back seat by the ski opening and spliced it into the wire at the plug... working fine.
Recent non start issue was due to corroded battery terminal. Electrics were fine, battery ok, but would go dead as soon as I turned the key to start, cable couldn't carry the amps

Thanks for the responses... The battery and terminals are fine and so is the fusible link. So could the issue be between my key fob and the ECU? Also, car does have keyless entry, but has not been programmed in some time. Really stumped here.
If I'm not mistaken if the battery in the Fob and I'm assuming that this is the original remote locking system the battery also powers the EWS chip in the key for the transmitter if the battery is dead your car can't receive the signal from the chip so if you're sure you have EWS check the battery. If batteries good like I said above you might want to check the the power at the fuel pump when you turn on the key wherever your fuel pump is you should be able to hear your fuel pump humming if not check power at the harness connector.

link checking is not enough, there are 2 fusible links. 1 goes to the driver side under rear seat to power all modules and fuses there like the ZKE = GM which is for locking and windows etc, the other one is inline in the power cable from battery to the engine bay and powers the e-box = Motronik etc.

Really appreciate the responses... I feel foolish but the starter was just stuck, that should have been my first point of attack. Crisis averted
