2011 328 sedan. My foxwell diag tool shows a FRM code that says the "clearance light, left is faulty". My question is what light is the "clearance" light - the side marker/turn indicator? I've never heard any light referred to as clearance. All bulbs are currently working but one is probably heading south and I suppose the resistance is out of spec.
Check the front parking lights and halos.

I'll start there. Thanks. Probably just pickup one of each and start with the most accessible bulb first until the fault clears.
Have you tried clearing the code? The footwell module seems to retain all history codes until they are cleared.

Yep, cleared it once and it came back. I had a similar code once on a rear brake lamp and when I pulled the bulb, the filament was shot but still working. If I was less lazy, I'd pull all the left side bulbs and take a look.
I haven't seen the term "clearance light" on a BMW, but on a similar year Mini, it refers to the front parking light

"clearance light" is well known in the trucking world, they're in the upper front and rear
corners of the box trucks, I was never sure of their purpose?
