Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any advice while turboing a e36 or the best kit to buy. Has anyone else turbocharged their e36 stock engine? Also I was wondering what you all need to turbo an e36, because I know it would be a lot cheap to source everything out and get some used parts to make this build cheaper in the end.

What did you find searching here? I recall a few threads on turbocharging a 328i. What are the specific questions?
You’ll want some s52 cams to start, and a cutring head gasket combo(Ces)

The answer to the question is yes. Many people have turbocharged an unopened M52. It is suggested to keep it mild, <400 hp and it will likely last a little while. Push it toward 500 and above and things will break. Abuse will break anything.
There really is no "best" system since individual goals and parameters are infinite. There are only a couple of "kits" tailored to the M5x engine. Most successful builds are pieced together from quality parts and selected through tons of research. The information is readily available and free. Just read a few, or dozen, build threads.
Since you are new here, the info is in the stickies on this Forced Induction forum. The search function is your friend.
"Budget" builds quickly exceed expectations by DIYers, by the time you refresh the cooling system, upgrade the clutch, properly vent the crankcase, get appropriate mounts. The little bits add up.
I know not everyone wants to take the time to learn all the aspects of their car, as there is a TON of things to consider and learn in this endeavor. In that case, just take your car and about $20k to a reputable race tuning shop and tell them to turbocharge it.

TRM has a great turn key kit with tuning. Each custom build is just that, custom and every setup on this forum is 1 of a kind. Cheers and good luck!
