Hi all,
I have an E83 X3 and am usually servicing it with Mike's Easy BMW tools, INPA 5.0.6 without a problem.
So my buddy has a diesel E70 X5 that gives him some error message and I hooked up the computer to his car.
And that's where it turned weird, first of all the two circles for battery and ignition stay white regardless whether it's turned on or not. I don't know if that's different with a diesel.
And then I didn't seem to be able to get into any module of the car. Each time it said something like the connection was disturbed. It may be timing out since it is "busy" for a while. I never saw that with mine before and I double checked and it still works fine with my car.
Does anybody have an idea what could be causing this?
Thanks!

what cable are you using? E70 are Dcan and a cable with pins 7 and 8 bridged wont work on them.

i have one of the K+Dcan cables from ebay unmodified. Used it on many E70 and E9x without issue.
