I would like to fit rear PDC to my 735i. I found this link for the e34 http://www.gunnar525.de/screwings_beta/pdc_einbau.pdf
Now I want it to look and function as OEM but I was wondering if it would be just as easy using a system from a newer BMW as parts will be easier to come by?
Looking at the pictures the pdc module is the one they use in tons of bmws. The harness they use looks like an early e38 harness as they used to have the 2 pin connector like that. If I remember correctly the sensors are the same size so all you’d need is the mounts for the bumper. They sell universal ones on eBay that flush mount them to the bumper they might work. If you use the newer style you can re pin it so you don’t need a switch it just is switched on by the reverse lights. I retro fit an e39 pdc kit I made from a junk yard car for my x3 works flawlessly

Great link Shogun. I've got speakers on the rear shelf which are or connected to the radio which I guess can be used for the PDC. I'm not interested in fitting the PDC switch on the dash. So can I go for any generic module and sensors? I'd try and go for Bosch or other known brand of sensor just want to know how interchangeable modules and sensors are.
Found e32 module on eBay £50 more expensive than th newer stuff
Also would th original system plug into the existing gong?
