    My run flats feel "rough"

I bought a 2014 335i xdrive (my first BMW and the most amazing car I've ever owned!) in October from a dealership which came with brand new pirelli run flats. Now in April, I swear I can feel the road in the pedals and floorboard. The only way I know to describe it is it feels like the road feels "rough" even though it's the same paved roads I've driven for 2 years prior. I've put about 10k highway miles on them. After reading several articles and posts, I'm starting to wonder if it's these run flats that are causing this. Anyone else understand what I'm describing?

Got a 2015 335xi with 18s, After 32K ( actually less as the first owner used winter tires) the rears are down to the last 2-3k miles of wear. They are a little noisy for my tastes at this point.

I had RFs on my '94 Vette and they do ride harder.

In my old job as a road agent I wore out a lot of tires and they all got noisier as they wore.

My feeling is that it's the extra stiff side walls of the RFs that adds to stiffness and noise. If you drive like me, you've got about 20K left on the Pirellis. Any kind of heavy foot( like you probably) will wear out the rears faster.

Anyway, I'm putting on All Season Bridgestone Driveguards this week ahead of the travel season. They are reviewed to be quieter and ride well

    and check your tire pressure.

    The 335xi is 32F/38R.

Misinflated by the dealer a few times.

The run flats are really just as you described. I will say you are going to feel more of the road as they wear and they will get louder as well. If it is time for new tires and you want to stay with the run flats the Bridgestone Driveguard is by far the best riding quietest tire on the market.

I would also make sure the PSI is correct for the car.
If I can help let me know.

I just installed new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires (ordered from Tire Rack ) on my 2009 Z4, replacing the Bridgestone OE run flats. It drives like a different car now. What was a harsh, jarring ride is now pleasant and so much more comfortable to drive.

They are a very good tire at a reasonable price. Thanks for the feedback.
