I am trying to start a 2012 135 after the battery went dead and I put the battery charger on it and charged it up. The battery was replaced from original and is only two years old. The car is not driven much and I had forgotten to put the battery tender on it. Question is does it need to be reprogrammed? Any help to resolve this issue would be helpful the key fob doesn't unlock the doors or interior lights don't work still either.
When you say “the car won’t start,” do you mean the engine won’t crank or do you mean the engine will crank but won’t run? A fully discharged battery can’t hold the same level of charge as a battery that’s never been completely discharged. Why? When a lead acid battery charge level goes below a certain level the lead plates are permanently damaged by the chemistry. Fully charge the battery and have it tested at a parts store. I’m betting it’s toast.
The car won't crank at all, no lights come on at all and key will not unlock the door locks.
