I'd also like a race without any extra pit stop drama...

That was the Alonso curse, for talking smack about how together McLaren is compared to the other teams.

Great race! Sebastian was furious, and had every reason to be, but I doubt he was going to hold that spot the way his tires were going off.

Those *******ers at Sky Sports are complete ****heads:

"Lap 39: Verstappen runs wide as he tries to pass Hamilton but comes back on track ahead of Raikkonen."

A great example of total loser liars just blatantly doing '1984-level' lies and propaganda. Just unbelievable what spineless scum you have to be to stoop to Sky Sports' level.

Wtf is Charlie Whiting thinking once again: so now it's perfectly ok to just run someone who is alongside you off the road!?? And in a fast corner no less?? WTF WTF WTF WTF!!!!????

How can this ****show be called racing if one ******* driver (Lewis) has the right to run anyone off the road in any way he wants if they get alongside? How many years has this been going on already?? SO MANY overtakes this race and everyone was very civil, all the experienced pros left eachother room even when fighting for top spots (a few mistakes by less experienced drivers and an understandable mistake by Vettel doesn't change this), but this one ***head is given the permission by the ****head judge to run others off the road?!

How much of a loser, how bad of a driver do you have to be to need to resort to such desperate, cowardly moves?

    - - - Updated - - -

I have not criticized a driver more than Verstappen probably, for a reason, in the past. But one always has to be fair and only judge on what happened at the instance you're looking at. And it's clear that Verstappen saw an opportunity when Vettel seemed to go long and leave a big enough opening. In the end it was a mistake by Verstappen, but a completely understandable one that we can't fault him for that much. Unfortunately he also deserves a penalty from a mistake like that.

But of course ironically it is ONLY Hamilton who benefits from Verstappen's penalty!! **** this race. Hamilton drove like ****, had **** pace, only ****head moves, and he's still gifted 4th place!

Solid race by Bottas. He was lucky that Ferrari's pit wall flushed everything down the toilet. And then a bit unlucky about the safety car.

Great drive from Kimi apart from when he would've had to overtake or defend, or do anything else than just bang in 'ok' lap times. Kimi deserved 2nd I guess but he was completely ****ed by Ferrari's world famous '**** our own team Royally' -tactics department.

How tacticians can be so absolutely idiotic is beyond me. Ferraris' situation called for covering the undercut, and nothing at all but covering the undercut. Nothing else made any sense at all, there was nothing anyone could ever win by any other move than that. But dit they cover the undercut? Of course not, once again like we've seen in previous years they had the GENIUS idea of ruining Kimi's race completely by just ****ing him over and leaving him out on tires that wouldn't enable him to outrun Martin Brundle on foot. Letting others to catch up to Kimi, with a pitstop already done is just some kind of world record genius, especially as Bottas OF COURSE just breezes past with no difficulty!

Luckily Verstappen's mistake (which ruined Vettel's race) helped Kimi out a massively, allowing to barely hold on to 3rd. Kimi should've been 2nd at least, if not 1st from how he's been driving (then again he seems to be completely incapable of passing or defending nowadays so maybe 1st was always off the cards).

What I don't get is why Mercedes and Ferrari didn't pit to change tires right after RB went for the softs, putting SS or US since there were like 16 laps left. Or they couldn't pit in since there was a Safety Car???

I think because the safety car got out directly ahead of them and they would have to wait to come around again and then if they pitted they would be at the very back once the race restarted. Redbull apparently were in turn 14 when the safety car came out, were able to pit and get out and maintain position. I think this is what was said on the broadcast and what Valterri and Seb were bitching about post race

Here you go. Article explaining it.

What an excellent race. Ricky deserved it. Max needs to be patient. His aggressiveness is welcome, but his mistakes are not.

But with the SS or US could be faster than the RBs and could catch them in the 16 laps. My guess

The USs were rated for <10 laps though, so they’d have to come back in with only a handful of laps left.

Keep it clean, folks. Appreciate the passion and the sentiments (and enjoyed the race in spite of Bottas---and Vettel---getting hosed by the timing of the safety car deployment).

Finally sat down to watch a race.

    Observations:

    1. The camera angles during the race seem to have changed. Reminds me of how races were filmed during the late 90's. Kind of liked it.
    2. The commentary was atrocious. I mean really, really bad. Amateurish, at best.
    3. The halo is worse than the commentary and equally impossible to ignore.

Ultimately didn't feel like I was missing anything, which is a shame, because it's not the result I was hoping for.

I'm just glad I don't care as much about commentary as you guys. I thought it was a great race to watch. Good calls and bad calls both contributed to that.
Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?
