    Timing Chain Problem

I have a 2009 750Li... in 2016, i took it in for the "customer care" package due to issues that were well known - with the stretched timing chain being part of that. At the time, local BMW dealership said it checked out "fine"... had 71,000 at the time. for the past 3/4 years, i've had a "transmission drive train malfunction" that would come on intermittently, but as soon as the car was shut down, no code would be maintained, and car worked fine. BMW shop could never figure out what was causing it. Today it did it again, yet now the code stays. Took it in - and they said... "problem is timing chain". It now has 106,000 miles... not sure if it's related, but car started using oil - about a quart every 600 miles or so... Seems to me, kinda funny that BMW knows this is an "issue" with this car, but the shop telling me - "It was fine when we checked", so it's my problem now. Anybody have any thoughts/potential help with how I should be handling this? They are telling me it's probably cheaper to just replace whole engine than mess with this.... though they haven't given me any prices yet.

how do you contact BMW directly to see if they will handle any of it through goodwill?

    help!!

I agree, I had the same issues with my 12 F02. Tranny leak and malfunction message to include an on going misfire of some sort that is becoming annoying at idle! However the dealer stated tranny needed replacement at $9800.00, like you issues started early with poor to an I can't duplicate response. BMW knows about these issues but will not issue recalls because their name would no longer carry the most important slogan "Ultimate Driving Machine". Yes the cars are great but BMW need to do better with fixing ours!

They certainly have been building some crap engines and transmissions for some time.
