Please don't delete For Sale prices after sale

I find it quite difficult to figure out how much to price my BMW parts. I often will try to find price history by searching the forums, however people have this rather annoying habit of deleting their for sale prices, and just writing SOLD

It would be very helpful, if people actually kept their original asking prices, and just write SOLD next to that price, or even better, what the item actually sold for.

That is not done by the moderators, that is done by the individual sellers, they edit their post after the sold it.

Correct, but it would be nice if there was a FAQ or rules for the for sale section, which suggested this.

I think it's typically done as a courtesy to other sellers, not a detriment. Without sale price records, anyone is free to try and get whatever they can for their cars or parts, to whomever, whenever. If there is a pricing precedent mantra, and somebody just dumps a bunch of parts for cheap because they are desperate for money, then the next seller will have to sell at or near those prices. I know that can be frustrating in trying to gauge market value, but with RealOEM, ECS tuning, FP Euro, eBay, etc... you should have NO trouble finding the list price of any BMW part, and base your selling amount accordingly.
