My 1990 325i has a newer top that the PO installed. However the windows on both sides keeps hitting the top of the convertible. The driver side is worse since it also hits the rear window trim (see the shiny spot in the picture). Yes I can roll the windows down and then roll them up or just lift the edge of the top and push the door closed. My biggest fear is I will forget to do that and it will rain!
I've removed the door card and I see the parallel and height adjustment screws. I've read a few other posts and they several people have mentioned an angle adjustment. Where are those screws? I found a pic of a door on mye30journey and he labels the parallel and height adjustment screws. Where are the angle adjustment screws?
Also, any recommendation on what to lube the scissor tracks with? One post mentioned crc dry lube for the tracks but what about the big gear? Should I use dielectric grease (another recommendation)?
Ideally somebody has a video showing the adjusting and how what it took to line it up.
Thanks!
Make sure not to back the adjusting screws all the way out of the brackets, just loosen them enough that you can move the window around for adjustment.

This is a common problem when a new top is installed. it is inherent in all bmw e30's cab. you might be able to adjust the window to accomodate this problem but most likely not. The other thing to consider is adjusting the roof frame from the 3 bolts under the tonneu cover. 3 on either side. You can tilt up or down forward or back with the shims that are there. this is what happens when a new top is put on in almost all cases.
My 1990 is doing the exact same thing on the passenger side.
I have a rear plastic window protector cover..any of you have one?
When I fold the top, I place a cotton towel on the plastic window.
I would adjust the top, not the windows. There are two screws in the frame near the plastic window (one on each side) that can be adjusted easily with no disassembly. It can raise and lower the roof of top as needed. If that doesn't work you'd have to mess with adjusting the height of the frame where it bolts into chassis (uses shims for spacing), but that's a real pain and may make things worse if you don't know what you're doing.
