I have noticed that after driving my car that there will be a couple drops of oil on the ground. I drove the x5 around the block and then parked it in my driveway and put something under it to catch the oil see how much was leaking and it was only a couple drops. Nothing too bad. What would be the best way to figure out where oil is coming from? The x5 has 106k miles and I bought it when it had 99k. So far I have had transmission service done on it. So, assuming the previous owner didn't replace anything, where would I start?
Most common leaks upper left and right timing cover, valve cover gaskets, vacuum pump, oil pressure switch, alternator plate gasket. Get a flash light and a mirror look around the valve covers and vacuum pump the alternator plate gasket is drivers side low on the engine block hard to see or have a shop inspect it
