'06 E61 CCC reboots with AUX port install

I have an '06 530xi that did not come with an AUX port, so have been trying to install one. I used the BimmerGeeks coding tool to enable the AUX port, and it now shows up as an input source. I then pulled my CCC unit out of my dash and installed the AUX cable
Pin 2: AUX (R)
Pin 7: AUX (L)
Pin 8: AUX (GND)


My problem is that my CCC reboots every time I plug the AUX cable into my iPhone headphone jack. As long as my iPhone is connected, the CCC is in a continuous reboot pattern...I don't even hear the navigation DVD spin up. As soon as I disconnect my iPhone, my CC comes up just fine.


Anyone else encounter this issues?


Any guidance and counsel?

Time to pull the dash apart and check your wiring. Something is definitely wrong. If you bought an aftermarket aux cable, you need to check wire color to the jack to verify which wire is which, installing it blindly without re-pinning it is a mistake. Also, you have your L R channels swapped according to retrofit kit 65 12 0 153 502 instructions. Keep in mind these instructions show the OEM connector from the rear and from that view, you are to install the wires on the left, not the very similar looking connector on the right.
