Go to Youtube and look up testing for spark.

Yes, you could definitely have a mechanical problem.

Mine runs fine until it hits a certain engine load, usually around 2200 rpm. I still have to do a compression test. One of these days.

When there is enough 'cylinder misfire' occurring, the fuel is shut down for that cyl. I'm not sure about the spark though.
Upon restarting the car, all cylinders are re-enabled for fuel.

Maybe it detects something is wrong (misfires) and then shuts it down.
That would make troubleshooting the spark/fuel quite moot.

Focus on what that cyl does after first power up and start. Is there fuel/spark then?

So I've been through everything on the car compression spark fuel the coil it's always Cylinder 6 until I unplug the plug on the top of the valve cover I think it's for the valvetronic the car runs fine I plug it in and it's back to Cylinder 6 misfire

Interesting. I replaced the Valvetronic Sensor because it was leaking oil through the connector. Now I have this problem with cylinder 6 also. Can you drive with the Valvetronic connector off? In my case, the misfire problem shows up only when you accelerate hard. If you let it misfire for a while, the computer shuts off spark to cylinder six in order to protect the catalytic converter.

However, if I turn the engine off and back on, cylinder 6 operates as normal until I accelerate hard again.

I found the problem with the engine misfire. The problem is that the spark plugs I bought came with a gap of 0.066. The gap should be 0.044 inches. I adjusted the gap and the problem went away.
