Back with BMW, this time E63 V10 6 speed

Hello BMW community; I recently purchased a 2007 E63 V10 6 speed, I'm back on the BMW ranks. Did some SEARCH about what to do about the M85 rod issues. Has there been a permanent fix? I've seen M 85 on M5 models reaching way over 120,000 miles. Any info will be appreciated.

As a follow up to an afternoon of cleaning, shining, detailing, I noticed that the battery vent tube is disconnected. I will need to remove the battery to connect the vent tube. I have not had time to read the owner's manual. Will I need to reprogram the whole electrical system if I unplug the battery?

Hello welcome back. New owner of an E63 M6 as well. Not so sure about a permanent fix to the S85 rod bearing issue but I did read somewhere that it’s likely something that needs to be replaced every 75k miles. Again, not sure but it’s something I came across one day. M5Board maybe? Anyway, as far as disconnecting the battery, no need to reprogram/re-register. However, you may have to set your clock again. Good luck! And again welcome back.
