I have 2 540i wagons. The '99 has a non DSP sound system. The '00 has DSP. I removed the sub-woofer from both cars while working on the wiring and now Im not sure which sub goes with which wagon. One is marked 4/4 ohms, the other 8/8 ohms.which one is the DSP Sub?
DSP is 8/8 ohms and non-DSP is 4/4 ohms
Well I swapped in the DSP amp from my 6speed donor sedan for the DSP wagons blown pos amp and finally have some (total crappy sounding) tunes.DSP head unit's pixels are shot so I can't read anything for adjusting out the horrible echo Im probably gonna junk the whole system
if I have a dynavin head unit, can I just swap out my hifi amp with the DSP factory amp?

Ask Jeff, he's pretty helpful.
called them. Short answer is no.
Non dsp head unit's pixels look perfect but no radio reception or remote lock I assume the antennae amp is shot. Im sure that head-unit wont work with dsp vehicle although both are early Blaupunkt cassette systems.I may ply Plattus1000's suggestion and try to DIY pixels myself although reading the manual Ive kinda figured out where stuff is. I mostly use one of those archaic cassette-on-a-cord aux jacks plugged into my phone for tunes. Not very elegant, but surprisingly decent sounding
I failed to mention the dsp wagon has a parrot screen that powers up in silence with connection wires for headphone/aux , usb and ancient Apple in the glovebox . Maybe thats what fried the orig amp
