    Post The right cables

    Hi every one!

I am new to the diagnostic world, I'm trying to get my set up going for an E38 and have bought a K+DCAN cable and a converter for fitting it to the pac man connector under the hood. Now my question is I've seen many people solder two pins (7&8 if I'm correct) to be able to access all modules on pre 06 cars. Can anyone confirm if this needs to be done?

    Thanks in Advance.

Not necessary if you are using the 20 pin adapter. The 20-pin usually has the 2 k-lines (pin 7&8 stuff) already bridged.
