New here. I'm looking for instructions (video link) on how to change the thermostat on my 2010 x5 d35. Any help would be appreciated!

It's kind of a pain passenger side front of the engine. The more interesting thing about the m57 stat is it is an old school no electrical connector thermostat and of course the metal guts click into the plastic housing. The reason it is interesting you don't have a coolant temp gauge so when the thermostat comes apart you really have no way of knowing but if you ever get particulate filter faults, check to see what the actual running temp is with Ista. The engine will not go into regen mode because the coolant temp is to low and the particulate filter becomes clogged.
