Soo, we just bought our 2005 X5 4.4, and when we bought it the DSC light would flash basically anytime we were in snow. Since we really knew nothing about BMW's my husband got out and watched the front tires not spin when the light would come on and flash so we took it in. Long story short, the shop fixed an issue, but the light will still come on occasionally and flash on back roads when muddy or turning above 30ish mph. I would really appreciate either some feedback that there is possibly still an issue or, that's normal and I just need to slow down lol.
Thank you!
Welcome to the forum. You posted in the e46 3 series section (wrong place) but I will try to help you. It is normal for the dsc light to flash when the dsc system detects wheel spin or the vehicle is sliding/skidding. It sounds like yours is activating more than it should. What is the condition of your tires? Tires with little or no tread will have poor traction in the slippery stuff and cause the dsc to work overtime. Also check that all tires are same size and/or proper size(s). Sport pkg vehicles will have staggered sizes (wider in rear) check the sticker in the driver door jamb for the correct sizes. Check the basics first.
