e36 Why is Tirerack telling me stock wheel and tire fitment won't work ? 225/50/16

    I would like to run 225 / 50 / 16 on Style 30 wheels ( 16x7 et46 ) when I put them in my cart at Tire Rack I get

"Requires the following wheel widths and offsets 16X7 ET30-40 16X7.5 ET38-45 16X8 ET40+ *** Can increase negative camber on rear to obtain more clearance ***"

Which seem to tell me I can't slap those on my 325is ? I mean it should be fine right ?

If you know it fits I always leave the specific car model off when ordering a non-stock size from Tire Rack. After having to convince them over the phone for 15 mins a certain tire would be fine on my car before they would ship them. They have laws and guidelines to follow.

Just know what you want and buy it. There were multiple different factory wheel/tire options on the E36 325is and they appear to have changed somewhat by model year, so you may get differing answers depending on what year you enter, even though the car is the same.

As you said, the wheels should fit. If a 16x8 ET40+ fits, a 16x7 ET46 will damn well fit as well.
