By the way, I forgot to mention that only the right engine block gets warm, the left seem to be cold.
I believe that the problem is with one of the DME, maybe burn or not getting power somehow.
Also after startup the engine cannot hold idle and I've to push the accelerator pedal to prevent the engine from shutting off.

The progress is so slow that I forget the previous posts .. sorry for that.

I will check in the E-compartment if the DME's gets power.
Do you have a list of the pinout for the DME's?

Swap the CRANKshaft sensors over (physically remove both, swap them and re-connect) - these are located on the bell-housing of the gearbox:

    Ok I'll try this.
It will be challenging as I don't have a lift or hard surface (the car is on soil).

I wouldn't risk it unless you are happy that the car is fully supported on axle-stands on a stable surface.....

Here are some DIS pictures from today.
Why the smooth-running report show on one DME 750 RPM and on the other DME 0 RPM?
What sensor measures this value? the crankshaft sensor?

Yes, CRANKshaft sensor - or the DME is dead/not powered

    Some updates:
    - A local BMW specialist found the cause one DME wasn't working is at the fuse box in the rear, the fuse was fine but there was a discontinuity between the fuse and the electrical connector in the box.. (who thought?!)
    - Replaced both OSV at the rear of the engine.
    - Replaced both Throttle housing gasket.
    - Replaced a fuel hose to the tank that was leaking.
    - Install and replaced all Fuses following the diagram.

Now, the specialist said that the problem might be the EDC system. he couldn't connect to the module so it could be dead.
Furthermore, there is an unknown pulley component in front lower engine that has a connector without anything connects to it. (Please check the attachment below).
Could someone know what this part is?

    Thank you very much!

EDC issues will not impact the transmission or other errors you are seeing. edc is the electronic damping ( shocks ). That plug is on the side of your power steering pump. I'll try to look at mine, and tell you what it goes to, but also should not have any impact to your current issue.

So this is the power steering pump which also energized the EDC system?

No. Not sure of what your setup is ( send the last 7 digits of your vin, and we can see what you have options wise, but a 750iL should have edc and sls - sls is self leveling, so the pipes running out the back of the pump go to the rear suspension. EDC is self contained shocks that provide comfort or sport settings based on driving style and if you press the edc button on the dash. That connection I think controls steering feedback ( I forget what that option is called ). Look at a site e38.org. It is your friend.

So both EDC and SLS do not impact the transmission operation, right?
    What the following code mean?
0F [015] Pressure controller EDS Total current

isn't it belongs to the transmission valves body?

Correct. Edc and sls are not in anyway transmission related. Not sure what that message is - what tool ( and what port did you connect it to ) shows that message?

I used GT1 via the port under the hood.
in the following days I'll rescan to check if there is anything changes and update.

    see this.

It applies to 5hp24, but it is similar to 5hp30.

Also, there is a good document on e38.org

    Hello again guys,

I just can't get rid of the EGS fault.
I attached the recent scan for reviewing.
I might found a problem with the throttle bodies control module,
please refer to the pictures and video.

I hope someone can put some light on the diagnostic, this car has been stuck for the last two years and counting..

Thank you very much for you effort!
    Tomer

So i replaced both throttle bodies with used one I found on Ebay and the engine run much smoother.
    The Transmission fault still exists.

    Hello all,
I measured the current for each of the four solenoid in the Trans connector (The round 16 pins) and each received 2.5V. it's normal?

btw, I also checked the can-bus system and it's ok. I received 60 ohms and voltage of 2.7 high, 2.3 low.

    I attached the latest scan

One of the DME is not communicating, It's works, but not communicate.

To give you a better idea of how the car works with the dual battery system. The Bottom 110AH battery feeds the Starter and EKAT Catalytic Converter Heaters. The Top 55AH battery feeds the rest of the car. In one of your earlier posts, you mentioned it was sitting at ~12.1v. That is dead.

Transmission Failsafe Program's first likely cause is a weak or dead battery.
The second most likely cause is electrical, such as the transmission solenoid sub-harness failing. It is submerged in transmission fluid that sits around 200 degrees Fahrenheit and the solenoid connectors are unsealed, so the fluid can easily wick its way down each wire and create chaos.
The last cause is a solenoid failing.

Take care of your battery first, then get your multimeter out and test your harness for excess resistance.

By what you said, it sounds like you have a harness issue. Solenoids require 12v to operate. 2.5v won't even tickle them. I can't recall which pins are 12v and which are signal from the EGS, but you should test for continuity to ground (use the jumpstart negative terminal) on the 12v+ pins. If it reads ANYTHING other than infinite ohms, you have a short in the harness.
