So my car has a Riot racing BBTB, RR cams, injectors, shorty headers, CAI with the 3.5inch upgrade, and a chip. I recently got it dynoed and on the last run it got to 235rwhp. My question though is it has this weird dip at around 5k rpm, anyone have any idea as to what that could be? Friend thinks it could be coils since my motor has about 199k miles or the dyno wasnt reading right since we couldnt get a solid torque reading.

It’s too bad the dyno operator did not know how to hook up the tach to give the power curve in rpm and thus also a torque curve. Dyno seems slightly low but is is a 23 year old motor.
With rpm you would be able to compare better. Vanos does change from advance to retard around 5000 rpm for top end power and a little blip there is not uncommon. If vanos was not working there would be no low to midrange advance and the power curve would feel flat and then take off up top.
Many 20+ year old cars need some work so it’s possible your car needs some sorting. Cam sensor and knock sensor harnesses can deteriorate with age and a lot of other little things can go wrong.
That dip at 95mph isn’t 5k.
Your tune doesn’t have vanos setup properly.

A 95 M3 has 3.15 diff and 235/40/17 tires and does 93 mph at 5000 rpm in 4th, but maybe the car does not have stock size tires or diff ratio.
Looks like you need an RK tunes tune.

Thanks. Im possibly thinking the tune since Im sure the RR Cams run more aggressive than the most of the other off the shelf cams and there is no dedicated tune for them. Does anyone know a good BMW OBD1 tuner in Denver or the surrounding area? Thanks everyone for the replies.

Probably a Schrick 264/256 tune would work for the RR regrinds. Remote tuning is fine as long as the tuner is responsive and willing to work with you on revisions if you need one. Most 20+ year old cars need some maintenance. Owners often mod them without sorting them out first. Sometimes the mods are not installed right. Then the tuner gets blamed for everything and has to spend hours trying to help the owner figure out and fix the non tuning problems with the car. Can the OP help by data logging or at least getting proper dyno run with rpm hook up and run files?
I have an appointment set up at a reputable tuner here that is going to custom tune a Miller War Chip, I will update in a few weeks when that is done.
Hopefully the shop is familiar with the Miller system. If not, you can pay for its education. Let us know the results.
